As theater, dance and performance artist he works mainly with Ana Borralho as Ana Borralho & Joao Galante. They are co-founders of CasaBranca cultural association, Verão Azul Festival and the non-musicians band Jimmie Durham. They were also co-curators of the electronic music festival Electrolegos in Lagos-Portugal.

C001gate é o seu projeto a solo enquanto músico de paisagens sonoras abstractas (gravações de campo, eletrónica, bateria e guitarra eléctrica) tal como de criador de imagens digitais.
Como artista de teatro, dança e performance, ele trabalha principalmente com Ana Borralho como Ana Borralho & João Galante. São co-fundadores da associação cultural CasaBranca, do Festival verão Azul e da banda de não-músicos Jimmie Durham. Foram também co-curadores do festival de música eletrónica Electrolegos em Lagos-Portugal.Como músico foi co-fundador da banda pop/rock Dis Nasti Dog com Vítor Rua e Carlota Lagido.
